Adventure

Adventure: to be adventurous, to actively seek, create or explore novel or stimulating experiences

In the Your Values section , I suggest creating a better understanding of each of your core values by considering why each is important to you and how you want to enact it in your life. It is what has helped me to make my identified core values more personal and tangible. Today, I’m sharing about my reflection on Adventure.

  • Important to me because...the feeling of a novel experience and creating a memory of something out of the day to day ordinary is something I am grateful I can do. I want to look back on my life and know that I stepped out of my ordinary and experienced something new.  I want to have a glimpse into the world of others and engage in as much novelty as possible.

  • Will be in my life through... primarily adventure is captured by travel but also through finding small adventures close to home. Taking time to regularly find adventure through new experiences close by. Both individually and with my husband, I strive to imbed activities into my life that will stimulate a sense of exploration and novelty.

Five ways to create adventure in your life:

  1. Make a bucket list of restaurants, bars and activities in your city that you want to try

  2. Try something you’ve always been scared of - it doesn’t have to be enormous!

  3. Take a class or workshop

  4. Be a tourist in your own city - explore a neighbourhood you’v never been to or book a staycation

  5. Travel! Go near and far. Identify what kind of travelling is most fulfilling for you
